Waiting

Soon after, the engagement date and the wedding date got fixed. Both the mothers made appointments with their trusted astrologers and matched the kundalis, luckily the match was good and both Vanessa and Vivan scored  23 and a half, which is considered to be good, on a scale of 36 where the minimum score must be 18.

Her mom was in seventh heaven since her only daughter/ child was going to get married. Vanessa was happy too. But the thing that really bothered her was that will she and Vivan be compatible with each other; because as a girl her needs were different, maybe a lil different from the average girl. She was way too sensitive and emotional and she needed a guy who was willing to take her responsibility. It was not easy being with her, coz she needed someone to be there for her 24*7. She needed a guy who could listen to her chattering all day long, solve her troubles as if they were his own, help her with her daily routine, be there for her forever and always. And most importantly someone who could handle her temper. She had friends who loved her unconditionally, were there with her during the most difficult times hence she expected her man to have these qualities himself, if he were to become the most important man in her life.

Unfortunately for her, Vivan wasn't a bit like that. He was a very busy person. Considering that he was a Manager with the the leading newspaper, that is obvious but the heart has its own woes. This would sound stupid but the fact is that after their "marriage" got fixed, they spoke after twenty two days and each of the twenty two days had been a torture for her. Over thinking ruins most of the situations and yes she was a master at over thinking. She must have cried herself to sleep each night. Since she had experienced the best in life, expecting a lil better was natural.

Finally after what seemed like eternity, he did call. And she felt a vacuum inside her heart. This is not what she had been expecting. Sure she was happy that he had called but the happiness was way too small. After that they sometimes chatted on Whatsapp but that too was rare. It was as if the universe was just not working in her favor. She tried to initiate conversations but her silly messages were responded with just mono-syllables, and that just blew her off the radar. She did call plenty of times, for a girl like her, she never calls anybody, just never. But for him, she even undid her own rules. She so badly wanted things to work between them, she was so desperate to make him the man of her dreams that she possibly did everything she could in her own little way. But disappointment waited for her with open arms.

She had an exam and she wanted Vivan to wish her Luck, to give her a few tips, some advice, and throughout the night she waited impatiently for his one message. Nothing else mattered to her, she couldn't study, couldn't concentrate, she was restless. She remembered a friend who had been with her throughout all such exams, wishing her luck, encouraging her to do better every single day and maybe it was because of those words that she had passed with flying colors in an earlier exam. She needed that care, however small, but that meant the world to her.

Disappointments as such continued throughout and she began to rethink over her decision. She was almost into depression because she couldn't talk about this to anyone. For the rest of the world, her alliance with Vivan was a match made in heaven. But only her insides knew how hellish she felt.
